we are using visualARQ to create 3D-Models of our structures and now need to create position plans from the 3D-Model.
It would be very helpful if the Tags could be placed in the 2D-plans and 2D-Sections and would keep their link to the actual Members (Colum/Slab/Wall/Beam). So one can click on the member in the 2D-Plan to label it and it gives the corresponding properties of the element.
(Same behaviour that is available in AutoDesk Revit for example)
At the Moment it is only possible to add a Tag in the 3D-Model directly and it is not possible to show it in section view.
To have a feature like this would be very helpful in documenting the 3D-Model and create 2D drawings from it.
Also the intelligent dimensioning as discussed in other topics is very interesting for us.
Do you mean in page layouts, on top of the detail views? If so, we can consider this feature for future versions.
In Revit one can work in the 2D environment of the 3d Model (Plan or Section) and is able to Tag the elements that are visible, since they keep their intelligence also in the 2D-Views.
If it would be possible to create the neccesary updateable 2D-views in VA and then be able to Tag on these 2D-views (with tags that are linked to the geometry and update as well) it would enhance the documentation a lot.
Basically all the tags and dimensions should update if the 3D-Model is changed and the 2D-View is updated.
For now we are unfortunately not able to produce Position plans with VA.
Do you mean dimensions linked to objects? that’s also a planned feature, so I add your vote to it.
