Crash when scrolling through render settings

My rhino 7 keeps crashing when i scroll through the render settings. Happens regardless of what file i try it on or even with a completely new and empty file. I also reinstalled the program but it didnt fix the problem.
I basically cannot use rhino at all right now.

Please post the results of the Rhino command _SystemInfo.

wow, okay thank you. This seems to have fixed it. Although i really i dont understand why as i have the latest GPU drivers

It seems compiling of kernels isn’t going as expected in thumbnail preview rendering.

With the rendering panel hidden set the render device back to your GPU. Then change a viewport to Raytraced and click the running number in the right side of the HUD, change the number to something large, I use generally 999999 for this step. Let Rhino run for 10-20 minutes. You’ll see that after a short while the viewport changes to gray, that is expected.

After the long wait change the viewport to Wireframe and back to Raytraced. If it starts rendering white (or if you have a model open already to whatever it is) the kernel.compiling finished.

You should be able to scroll in the Rendering panel now.

Will try that. Thank you for your time!

I believe I have a fix for this. It should be available soon in a 7.4 build. I’ll send you a version in a private message once it is available.

RH-62353 is fixed in the latest Rhino 7 Service Release Candidate
