Crash on extendsrf after offsetsrf

  1. Extract the green surfaces
  2. Join them
  3. Offset them by 2mm
  4. Try to extend the indicated edge

Rhino 8 SR13 will get as far as the above and then crash to desktop.

(Yes, I know I should have exploded them first unfortunately, but imo the crash is bad enough, but that Rhino pretends that this can work by allowing a selection and drawing a partial preview is almost worse.)

I extracted, joined, offset, then exploded just as a sanity check… and the surfaces vanished completely after changing into a wireframe representation!

I am in Rhino 8 SR12.

Robert - extending seems fine now in 8.15.

I can reproduce that behavior here → RH-85131 Display: Explode Makes Object Invisible
-wim

I’m looking into a fix for the disappearing geometry now, but in the meantime if you need to fix this yourself.

The exploded objects have a display color that is set to transparent. SelAll and change the display color to something else in the object propeties panel.

RH-85131 is fixed in Rhino 8 Service Release 16
