Crash message ThumbnailExtension quit unexpectedly

Hi everyone,

I’ve been experiencing an issue where the ThumbnailExtension quits unexpectedly whenever I open models in Rhino or Finder and there are .3dm models displayed in a view. It happens time after time.

Has anyone encountered this problem and could provide a solution?

Hi Nick -

Please run the Rhino SystemInfo command and copy-paste its output here.
Does the Rhino crash reporter pop up when Rhino crashes?
-wim

No since Rhino doesn’t crash itself.

I suppose it may be a problem with macOS Tahoe, but I can’t google nothing similar, so maybe someone have any ideas.

Well that’s concerning. When this happens, I’d definitely like to see the content in the Show Details button.

Also, please send a screenshot of the System Settings > General > Login Items & Extensions > Extensions (at the very bottom)… where you see the Rhino-related entries…

(Though, now that I look at this…saying “Quicklook, Quicklook” is not expected). I’m curious how your’s looks.

I see you are also on the Release Candidate. (Is that intentional?) I am also curious what happens if you rollback to Rhino 8.27. Does the crash stop? (You might need to restart macOS after installing 8.27 to test this).
