Is ist true that the 5.x of Rhino for mac is nearly finished or are much thing gone to another place for the mixture of V.6 and V.5 or prepared for the “port Jump” to the V6?
So yes, stuff that remains in project: MR are the dregs of what need to be done for Rhino 5 for Mac.
Going forward, as far as YouTrack is concerned, we are retiring the project: MR and unifying all bugs in the same project for Windows and for Mac: project: RH…Project “Rhino.”
Sorry for my big big curiosity but I found ones more interesting thing in the YouTrack (I like this tool, too )
in The normal Rhino Category there are some points for the V.6.0 and I read three kinds of interesting Stats…
Is this a sign for an existing in house WIP Version, good kept in the “basement” of McNeel of the V6 for the mac?
hehe -> I am so Excited for the V6 - especially for Cycles and the RDK and so much more
But so far much of thanks for the long long development of the Mac Version! Most things for Construction and Design are still really good. and the other things of course, too
yes as soon as the windows v6 version is rolling out, the mac wip will switch to 6 for rhino as far as i understood. so this can only be a few months from now ok i hope and believe earlier but its not going to be forever anymore. there is light on the horizon
Yes, we have an RhinoWIP for V6 (Mac) that we hope to publish outside of McNeel when:
We are less distracted by the few remaining bugs in Rhino 5 for Mac.
We are less distracted by finishing off and shipping Rhino 6 for Windows.
It crashes far less often than it does now.
That last one is critical…and finding the right timing (because we rely on your much appreciated help finding those crashes) is tricky. But we also want to have the bandwidth to fix said crashes in a reasonable period of time so you don’t lose interest and wander away.
We’ve been putting in place internal processes to help us develop both the Windows version and the Mac version in tandem. This is a steep learning curve for us. Despite how it may seem on the outside, nearly every developer at McNeel works on both the Windows and the Mac products.
