Correct way to fix a hollow but closed mesh

Hi Guys,

I have been given this model to 3d print. The original was a mess of open and closed meshes, after a bit of tweaking and shrink wrapping i have managed to get a single closed mesh of the whole model

My issue is although the mesh is now all technically closed, due to the way it was initially modelled, the mesh is hollow in many places. No I’m a bit stuck and don’t know where to go from here to try and fix this.

If anyone has got any idea of how i can go about sorting all this out, it would be massively appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Well you can try SplitDisjointMesh to hopefully isolate those unnecessary inner objects?

thanks for the reply, sadly though this only helped remove a few random stray objects. The issue stems from the fact that she originally modelled all the figures cloths as separate objects and didn’t model a body where you cant see one. Makes sense from a time perspective but has made a very difficult model to work with.

Oh, yeah, that’s gonna need some cleanup, or a slicer that can just deal with multiple intersecting solids….
