I contacted RhinoCAM and asked if the newest version was better optimized for new generation CPUs. I am using RhinoCAM 2021, and they release a new version every year. I thought they might address this issue in the newer version.
Their sales person said she is not aware of such an issue. She forwarded my question to someone else in the company, who also did not know. He forwarded my request to the company they purchase their “simulation library” from. But they did not respond.
This is unfortunate for them. If they could fully utilize the new CPUs, they could brag about a massive performance gain of like 70%. I would be tempted to upgrade.
So if you are using RhinoCAM, and you want better performance with your 12th, 13th, or 14th gen CPU, you will need to do some experimenting and customizing in bios.
And you should always buy DDR5 if you have the option. It is completely worth it.
