When I copy and paste anything from one Rhiono 8 instance to another Rhino 8 instance I get an error in the command prompt.
Error: missing patches
Any idea?

Hi Fernando - my guess is there is a plug-in involved - say RhinoCAM perhaps?
-Pascal
Never seen that with RhinoCAM… Cam_01*
may be a camera/named view…
Yeah, just guessing… @fernando_rentas1 - can you please post the results from SystemInfo
in Rhino?
-Pascal
The only plugin installed is V-Ray.
I do not have any issue with the geometry imported, it is just that the message keeps appearing per every geometry in the command prompt.
Hi Fernando -
Please post a 3dm file that we can check.
-wim
And maybe the results of SystemInfo?
Hi, was there any resolution to this issue?
I am having the same problem, and it just delays the process of copy/paste by quite a lot.
Me too actually.

I would update your drivers, we have seen reports of Rhino 8 not working so well with NVidia drivers from 2023.
Still happening with the latest driver I’m afraid. Copy pasting and also when opening a file.
Are you also getting the “missing patches” messages, or is it just slow?
It’s slow when copying (no messages) and then when pasting I get thousands of Error: missing patches messages in the command line history.
What kinds of objects are you copy/pasting ? Can you post a sample someone can test?
I have the latest NVidia drivers and I even had an issue when opening files as it was mentioned above.
Hi -
-wim
@ helvetosaur - Literally anything…Text, polysurfaces, surfaces, meshes. It’s not happening in a fresh file. And the file that is displaying this problem is too big to post here. Is there another way I can share my file?
So it’s only that one file? Upload it to tech support here: Rhino - Upload to Support
Include a short description of the problem and a reference to this discussion thread.
Oh, and if you run the command Audit3dmFile, browse to the file in question and OK, it will generate a report. Can you SaveAs a text file and post the report here?
Now I could not open old files (a week old). Rhino hangs after I open the file and the error patch issue is happening while opening the file. This getting worse. I have the issue with multiple files.
Has a solution been found for this issue, I am now having the same “Error: unclear patches” when using copy/paste between two Rhino files
