Coplanar Vertices in Subdivision

Evolutetools has a parameter called; set vertices coplanar; it can subdivide a mesh and set the subdivided panels horizontal, basically making it useful for architecture. IS there a way to do that without evolutetools ?

Hi Bilan -

You can turn on the points of a mesh object and run SetPt on selected points to bring them all to the same x, y, or z level.

I know, and this is what i did, but it destroys the original structure. Evolute Tools does not do that. Hence the price i guess ?

Here Mr. Wim, i show you the video, you can see that it respects the subdivision.

How do you expect these to be planar while also maintaining the wavy shape?

Vertices = shape.

Just to offer a simple/classic Rhino solution (that also doesn’t capture the full complexity of the problem i.e. that the Evolute method does), one can use that gumball scaling handle to align points within a plane:

yes I use this sometimes, another method maybe to use ‘Align’ with the points selected
