Control Pattern Density

Hello,

I am currently trying to create a model for a cup using grasshopper, but the design that I am looking for is to make the pattern density higher at top and bottom and not just scale it down, so there will be no solid area between the pattern elements as shown in the image. would be grateful if anyone can guide.
