Connecting two closed curves?

What is the command to join two closed curves?

For example, I’ve drawn an oval on the “ground plane” and a circle a few feet above it. Both are open (unfilled) and I’d like to 1) make them solid, or, filled, and 2) loft between them (or whatever the command may be called).

I realize there are likely a few ways of doing this, but I am new to the software and haven’t found the commands.

To make them “solid”, you could use PlanarSrf for each of the curves, and then Loft them both. Or you Loft them first, and then select the lofted surface and use Cap.
