Computational complexity of mesh.split() method

What is the computational complexity of the Mesh.Split()-method with n being the amount of meshes?
The question in a much simpler but less correct form would be: How “fast/slow” is the split method? If I split 500 meshes it takes the time t1. Then I split 1000 meshes which is 2 times as much as before. Now the question is, how does t2 (for the second split) increase? Is it a linear function or quadratic, exponential, etc.?
There is no problem I want to solve, it’s just a computer-scientist-question :wink:

I am not sure I understand the question. Can you explain further? What problem are you trying to solve?
