I believe this is a bug.
Color changes do not seem to trigger clipping drawing updates consistently. In my case, when the only change was a color change, the clipping drawing did not update until I moved the clipping plane as you can see in the video.
Also, automatic clipping drawing updates in general would be a great improvement.
