Coarse wire display when not selected

Wire display is coarse when the object is not selected.
2025-09-04_Tess.3dm (205.8 KB)

There are 2 surfaces, one is selected.
The selected one looks fine; the unselected one does not.
When none is selected, they both are not nice.

This is in current V8:

V9 OpenGL looks similar:

V9 Direct3D is even coarser, too coarse IMO:

V5 :squinting_face_with_tongue:

Yes, I restarted V9 after setting the display pipeline.

Please run SystemInfo command in Rhino and send us the results.
Ok

I extracted the boundary of the longer surface and rebuilt the two long bottom edges with 16 points, what rebuild suggested and used sweep2 to make a new tunnel. Looks better. Guess this is not about the surface so I deleted the surface and kept just two curves in the file.

When viewed more from the top, the facetting effect is not visible…

Latest WIP with Direct3D

2025-09-04_Tess_mrtn.3dm (116.3 KB)

Perhaps @stevebaer or @jeff …
Is there a setting that controls the tesselation precision?
And why is it so much better when an object is selected?
The Direct3D display is far too coarse.

Hi -

Looks like this is WIP…

Thanks Wim.

And that’s why I reported it

This is from todays (2025-10-22) news:

I tried with the file in the first post.
Looks the same as before.
