So I’ve got some file I want to change the Units in from mm to inches, and the moment I change the units in the Model tab I get this popup warning that the Layout units are different, confirm that I want to do that.
So a) good grief I just changed one dropdown thing it’s not saved yet don’t yell at me and b)isn’t it most likely I want to change both, that I don’t even care about the distinction between Model and Layout units, why can I not do both in one step?
and C) (in the WIP anyway) when I go to the Layout tab and try to change it to Inches, I get that dumb warning again because the Layout units change isn’t actually saved.

Which version are you currently running?

Change the model units, get stupid popup, switch to layout and change units, get the popup again even though you’re actually making them match up.
Anyone who needs that dialog box isn’t actually going to read it, it’s just “WTF is this get it out of my face.” I dunno, there’s a ton of empty space in the Options page itself put some explanation there? It’s just so clunky.
A “don’t show again” box might help but what’s also needed is a way to just change both at the same time, you have to be some sort of turbo drafting nerd to care about the diffrence.
After a rash of tech that was related to annotation scaling and mixed units, we were asked to warn if the model or layouts unit was not aligned within the unit system.
When there is a fix, you can test the “do not show again” and message should only be showed once. Rhino should work as it has in the past and let you proceed with mixed units. Also you will not see the units warning not again in the same Units command.
Additions to the Help regarding the “why” of this warning is on my pile and will happen sometime before shipping.
Please test it when the fix is available, and let us know if it works better for you.
