ClosestPoint to surface plane

Hi,

I asked myself if it’s possible to let the ClosestPoint command not get a surface, but the surfaces plane as a target object…

In this case I would not have to do extend the surface or create a new one on top of it…
Of course the command could be written, but first I wanted to find out if there is any other way to achieve this with available instruments.

This actually works with InfinitePlane in Rhino 7.

Start the ClosestPoint command, type IP to get an infinite plane, select the planar surface to get the infinite plane from, then enter, then select the point to get the closest point from…
