Clipping plane properties such as Flip Direction and Views Clipped do not appear in the object properties dialog. Typing the “Flip” command works to flip the plane, so I guess that one isn’t as big of an issue, but I cannot find where to set which views are clipped… it doesn’t appear to be in any of the places it should be after sifting through various forums and videos.
Am I missing something obvious? I feel like I scoured the resources available on the internet trying to figure this out, so I hope it’s not a stupid question.
No, it is not. The release target for this item is 5.3, so the fix will be in the 5.3 update to the main commercial product (which we hope to publish as soon as possible). In the meantime, you should find this to be fixed in the RhinoWIP.
Can we please have a command line for this…I am using latest Version 7 and I want to make my own flip button.(Standard Icon likes to hide itself especially when using Bongo)
Are you using Rhino 7 for Windows? If so, can you make a new post with screenshots to explain what you’re after? The Properties panel has a Clipping Plane sub section with control for the views clipped.
Hi Brian,
Yes, Rhino 7 for Windows.
Ive worked out what the problem is. If I create 2 clipping planes and flip one I can make a slice through an object. I can select each clipping plane and flip it (using “flip”) or the properties panel.
If I then animate the clipping planes to make a moving slice through an object (using Bongo), the properties panel will often not open. The Materials Panel will also randomly lock up when using Bongo.
Okay, I’d suggest making a new post in the Bongo category and provide any info to help reproduce it. A simple 3dm file and the steps for instance. Bongo - McNeel Forum
