I’ve got a clipping plane that hits the objects I want to hit, and leaves the objects I want unclipped:
You can see the wooden column and its outriggers are not clipped, for example, but the site-poured topping above the hollow-core concrete planks is clipped. In order to make this look better for display, I wanted to show it with the materials active. I haven’t let the raytracing complete but you can see already that everything in the clipping plane is clipped in Raytraced view, including the half of the arch in the foreground, the hollowcore plank (which obscures that it’s even a hollowcore plank), and the wooden column (and its foreground steel outrigger):
This doesn’t seem to be the intended result.
Any advice? The last time I asked about this, I was told to do the raytracing in the model view and not to bother in the layout view, so I haven’t tried this there. Will raytracing work better in layout details in the future? Is there a way to get raytracing to show everything that’s not supposed to be clipped in the model view?
Thanks in advance!
