Clipping Plane Align Bottom is a Joke

Seriously guys, I run the command 20 times before realizing Align Bottom is taking into account the abstract triangular pointers of the clipping plane :skull:

If its not obvious I would like to report a bug and request a change for this behavior. Thanks.

Any align if the arrows point that side is a problem. Actually the text can also be an issue.

This is aligned top to 0

RH-86719 Align Clippingplane: ignore triangles

Apparently it should be “ignore triangles and text” or even better “align to clipping plane itself”. In fact, perhaps options should be provided for each of text, triangles or plane.

@AlW thanks I’ll add the text issue to it. In the YT I’ve already mentioned that the clipping plane should be handled as a normal plane. I miss to understand though why you would want options for text and triangle inclusion though.

Because they are visible and you never know when a user will emerge that “really needs it!” ?

I’ll let them complain first

Just yesterday, I ran into similar issue with a rectangular light, which aligned to the end of the direction arrow instead of the light plane itself.

It was a V-Ray light but the same happens to native Rhino light.
