Hi @Seghier_Khaled , thanks for making this available!

Do you know why the polyline offset Clipper.v1 computes faster than Clipper.v2?

Hi @cfee
I need to test your curve, the precision is 4 by default which make the offset more precise and closer to Grasshopper offset

not behind my computer now, but the polylines I used are simple. Just rectangles or hexagons. The MiterLimit is set to 2 for both components

I see.
JoinType and EndType in Clipper2 component are not the same as Clipper1.
In your file you used Miter = 2 which is **Round** in Clipper2
and Butt = 2 which is **Square** in Clipper2
And the precision in Clipper2 is 4 by default which give more precise result , you can reduce it to 3 or 2

It seems I have a machine-specific bug that prevents Clipper2 to work.

Whenever I open GH or try to use a block, I get

`Solution exception:Could not load file or assembly ‘Clipper2Lib, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=ddeb3f68c442d6e4’. A strongly-named assembly is required. (0x80131044)`

On R8 I have package manager install (all versions), manual install in a folder, manual install in main Components folder, remove file lock and read-only, in every attempt all the files (gha and dlls) are kept together

None of the above methods worked. @anon39580149 are you able to give support?

Update: I installed Clipper2 on two more workstations, one identical to mine (an HP Z4) and one other self built. On the Z4 it behaves exactly the same. On the self built, no problems. SO it is definitely a machine-specific problem, my problem is that it seems I’m the only one having it.

I tried messing up with .NET routines and a bunch of VisualC++ runtimes, and somewhat the error was partially solved, but I don’t know which one.

The remaining error is

> Object: ChartDisplayComponent (level 2)
> {
> Could not load file or assembly ‘System.Windows.Forms.DataVisualization, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35’. Impossibile trovare il file specificato.
> FileNotFoundException
> }

I can’t figure out which dependecy is it looking for and how to fix it.

Only @anon39580149 could point me which library is actually missing and why I am the only one missing them if they’re so common that nothing has been specified by the developer in the README.

THanks

Seghier requested that his user here on Discourse was deleted. As such, @anon39580149 is only an empty placeholder for the posts. There is no living human that is behind that user name. You’ll need to contact the author through the email address that is available on the plug-in page on Food4Rhino.

Thanks for the hint.. well, I hope this thread will still be useful for anyone having a solution, a way to debug to the solution or just happens to have the same problem
