Clean uninstall V5 for Mac?

Have a client who bought a V5 for Mac license in 2015, the license is valid.

After a long period of non-use, they are trying to get it to work again. Rhino will open, but they cannot save their work. It says the license is expired. Going to Preferences>Licenses crashes Rhino immediately. Suspecting a corrupted plist file, I had them reset their PList according to the instructions here, but it didn’t help. Their MacOS is 12.something Monterey.

I am not a Mac person, so I don’t know what else to try. I would say a clean uninstall, but I don’t see any procedure for that on the Wiki for Mac, and I don’t know what files if any one should be removing in addition to just uninstalling the app.

i assume they updated the mac os version in the meantime? Monterey sounds like it could be the problem, it has been quite a while but i believe i used a mac os version far before that

Ah, that’s probably it, V5 for Mac won’t run on anything later than 10.14. I thought that 12 was a lot older than it is. My bad.

yes probably, that might still be independent to this specific issue but maybe a good start to ensure Rhino to run (correct) anyway.

Well, they said that they wanted to upgrade anyway at some point, so now might be a good time…

i currently dont favour this conclusion, if you are talking about v8 at least. but well they might not be that picky :no_mouth:

No, in this case I am going to suggest V7…
