Changespace on some text from model space seems to have worked but not successfully. The text isn’t visible (probably a scaling issue), seltext works but then zoom selected says no objects are selected.

Layouts are in the world XY plane.
When you ChangeSpace an annotation from a detail that is not in the XY plane, the annotation will get moved to the layout but will be invisible from the angle that you are looking at it. This is no different than the behavior in model space, where an annotation in, e.g. Front view will not be visible in the Top and Right views.
