Can't zoom when object is selected, bug

I can’t zoom when a certain object is selected.
This happens regularly, and now I have an example to work with.

Load the file and do not change the view.

Select the object by left click, then try the mousewheel zoom.
Or CTRL+RMB, or PgUp/PgDn.

This is also in V8.

I can zoom when the gumball is off.

Deleted most of your geometry and added two named views…

Aha, I didn’t realize the Gumball is on…

Nevertheless Zoom is expected to work even if the Gumball is active.
There is definitely something wrong (=bug).

This is not cosmetics only.
