Can't see original when duplicating

I’m not able to see the original piece of geometry when Alt-Click Dragging for Dup. It only shows the one I’ve dragging, even after the “+” shows up.

Sounds like old display drivers to me.
Please run SystemInfo and post the results.

I don’t think this is a display driver issue. Your drivers look all up to date.

Does this happen with any model you make or with a specific model?

Any model. Since I updated to that daily updated you posted. Or maybe there’s been another update since then? I can’t keep track. RhinoHelp says this:

Version 6 SR7
(6.7.18171.4521, 6/20/2018)
Commercial

A new official SR7 release candidate was released today. I would try getting that as a first shot.

6.7 is the newest Service Release Candidate as 6.6 was just released this morning.
If I were you I would revert back to 6.6

In Rhino Options > Updates and Statistics, change the Update frequency from Service Release Candidate back to Service Release.
Then uninstall Rhino V6, and download the current released version (6.6), and install it.

That will get you back to what was working before.

Thank, @John_Brock,

But then Wouldn’t I then NOT have the update of the line weights (did those ever get fixed?) and the Block colors not showing as Print Color in the viewports?

I think maybe I’m confused by 6.7 Service Release SR7, and 6.6?

6.6 is the official Rhino service release as of today. We put out service release candidates at the same time that represent what will be in the next official service release. Right now 6.7 is a release candidate and will become the official service release in approximately four weeks.

Ok.

But which of these fixes will be in Official 6.6 Release:

  • Blocks as “Print Color” inviewport
  • Line Weights in RhinoPDF
  • Solid Hatches having weird artifacts in Blocks
  • Original/Duplicate showing when I Alt-Click-Drag

This will help me decide which is the better version for me at the moment.

I would just recommend getting the 6.7 release candidate. It will contain all of the improvements in 6.6 as well as other fixes we may have made over the last month. I know I made several modifications based on your input in 6.7 that are an attempt to fix items that you have reported. If the original.duplicate bug is still there, then we need to dig in and try to fix it right away.

Hm. Can @John_Brock and @stevebaer hash this out? You’re each saying to do something that opposes the other. :worried:

John and I are saying slightly different things only because I know that I did work in 6.7 to fix some issues that you recently brought up. Most code fixes over the last month does not show up in 6.6, and shows up in the 6.7 release candidate.

6.6 is our most stable release right now which is why John recommended this. 6.7 should still be stable, but there is always a risk because we are making changes to try and improve Rhino.

Sorry for the confusion, we really aren’t trying to make this difficult.

Ok, got it. No, I understand you’re both trying to help. I’ll try 6.7 and see what happens. And now I know I can go back to 6.6 if nec.

FYI - Artifacts and Print Color works now on 6.7 Release Candidate. Still can’t see the Orig/Dup
