Can't rotate in perspective view with trackpad

Hi…I’m trying to rotate in perspective view on my macbook with my trackpad. I’ve gone into prefs and clicked the button allowing this. Can’t do it. Can only pan with two fingers. Using cmd/alt/shift or any other buttons with two fingers does nothing except zoom. Any ideas?

Addendum!: I’ve noticed now that I am rotating on such a huge axis that is doesn’t even look like a rotation. I’ll fix. Wasn’t clear on how to delete this question.

Hi Sue,

When you zoom to extents (alias ZE or ZEA), the center of the view rotation will be the Center of Gravity of all objects. If you want to rotate around a specific object, select that object and type ZS (Zoom Selected), then zoom out until you see what you want to see.

Max.
