I got my new Macbook.
Now when I open V6 files, I get the message that they cannot be autosaved.
However, they are (1) readonly and (2) Save and Save As are disabled.

The first time you open a V6 file in V7, you should get that message. It is expected because of the file version difference.
If you save the file and update it to a V7 format file, then open it again, you should not get that message, provided the file is on a mac formatted storage drive.
Does that make sense?
Yes, but with the new computer and new OS, I can’t save the file as V7 nor can I modify it to force a version change.
Did you try Export?
Another possibility is to create a new file with the same units and tolerance, then Import the V6 file

I don’t have a Silicon Mac.
I can import. This is hat I get when I open. The command box won’t take input. None of the edit commands responds.
I wonder if a PLIST reset might help…
