Cannot orient 2D elevation view to model using new named CPlane (not world)

I’m sure this is a simple thing, but when I create a new CPlane for a model rotated in plan off the ortho xy in World CP, I am only able to set the plan view to the rotated CP, not elevational views which still come in relative to World CP (not perpendicular to the model’s sides which are rotated).

What is the trick to get perpendicular elevation views of a rotated model?

_SetView _World Front Zoom Selected

Actually what seems to work is:
_SetView
select CPlane
my named CP typed in
view selection: front, back, etc.
