Cannot get texture mapping surface to be evenly spaced

Any help on how to do a correct texture mapping on a simple surface is much appreciated, i tried all kind of options, but none give me an distribution on the surface. I would have assumed a reparameterize of surface would do the trick. And why it skews i have no idea. I am on R8. texture is attached. Hope someone can point me in right direction. Even with Human i get same
