Cannot create a Setview toolbar that will stay in my workspace.
There are two possibilities here.
One is that I do not have enough intelligence to be able to figure out the Rhino 8 UI
The other is that there is something dysfunctional about the UI.
After five months of pretty intensive use of Rhino 8 I have been able to create a Set View toolbar , strip out all the commands I don’t use and locate it to the left of my workspace under the Command function. But it always disappears after a short time.
The most reliable and straight forward way to access toolbars in 8 is to use the horizontal top menu bar. But clicking the Set View icon brings up this slider instead of the view icons. Image attached. You can actually access the icons with this slider but its not user friendly.
Is there a way to get the original Set View Tool Bar to remain in my workspace even after a new file is opened? Or fix the top menu bar so the icons for the various views pop up?
This may or may not be related to the above but now when I select a toolbar from the menu on the RHS of my workspace it quickly disappears. This was happening after 5 or six seconds but now it is happening more quickly than I can take a screen shot.
Also the main cog wheel where you select panels has disappeared.
Hello- please run Reset and set the top two checkboxes, then quit and restart Rhino - is that any better? @tgra - when you reset, please click the button to save settings for tech support and post the resulting file.
After working for a while after the reset the top menu bar with the drop down menus disappeared. The Gear icon in the top right hand corner and the command line feature also disappeared.
I have reset the workspace to all four Rhino defaults, rebooted the computer and uploaded the new settings for support. RhinoSettingsForSupport.zip (80.9 KB)
This worked fine for an hour or so. Tried to make a render in perspective view. Render process proceeded to completion but no image appeared . Render View Port locked up but workspace toolbars still active. Force quit not showing that Rhino not responsive. Clicking on other windows (views) produced bright red screen. I have two models open about 280MB each. I’m suspecting a memory issue. Will dig deeper. I note that Set View toolbar has been fixed. Many thanks.
