Can someone explain how the Custom Color List works?

Looking at the Custom Color List in the Rhino Color Picker in Version 9 for Windows and wondering how to use it. How is it different from the other options (HSV, HSL, CMYK etc.)? Can someone explain what is the vertical list of colors on the left? It doesn’t look Custom…

Is there a way to save Color Lists with names so you can recall them when you need them?

I don’t see any explanation for it in the Help section.

i also requested it a long time ago unfortunately custom lists are not for the user its a mess and i wish someone would clean it up and make lists customizable and accessible

Custom Color List

i am trying to set up lists of colors for instance for lights, just like the material metal has when you select the color predefined to for instance gold, platinum etc. how can i make such a list? preferably make a bunch and save them with different names? currently when i open custom color list i have a mess out of every single available color showing.
