I’m a landscape architect from China. The popularity of Lands Design in China is quite limited. The main reasons are related to the software’s ecological community and design habits. We’ve been using Lands Design for design work in China for three years. Currently, we’re engaged in tasks related to naturalistic planting and ecological restoration. In our work, we aim to study carbon neutrality through plant design. However, based on the available resources in China, we haven’t found any research related to plant design and carbon neutrality. The main purpose of posting this is to discuss and communicate with people around the world who are involved in plant design and ecological restoration.

Hi Yitian,
You have done an excellent work on plant selection, placement, and combination using Grasshopper.
Here are a few updates that might be of interest to you:
- Carbon Sequestration Calculator – We recently published a tool that assesses carbon sequestration in landscape projects. I think you might find it relevant. You can check out the video here: (https://youtu.be/qS5Lca4zI3s?si=SpPjX7ObxDIZnPD7)
- Research at the University of Hamburg – I came across an interesting investigation related to your topic at the University of Hamburg. Since I’ll be attending the Digital Landscape Architecture (DLA) conference in Dessau, Germany, I will try to connect you with the research team. Here’s more information about their sustainability initiatives: University of Hamburg - Climate Action.
- Showcasing Your Work – We’d love to feature some of your projects using Rhino + Lands Design. If you’re open to sharing, please send your work to rhinolands@asuni.com.
