Cage- Preserve structure not working as expected

While doing cage edit, even after selecting _Preserved structure=yes, the shape get deformed which is not like someone intended to do, but he just want to manipulate the position of the objects keeping their form as it is.

I would not use CageEdit for this, but rather Flow. Better yet, use just copy with distance, direction and spacing fixed, or ArrayLinear.

yes i agree that i can achieve this task with flow or arraylinear very easily
if this is either hard to implement or not possible then for polysuraces maybe this option should be greyed or not present as it creates confusion. Thanks for the quick reply

Well, it does preserve the structure. It might not preserve the orientation, but the structure is - as far as I can tell - preserved. You can use Shear with Rigid=Yes instead.

Preserve structure only means that the input objects are not in any way rebuilt, and this applies to any object except meshes and points AFAIK

Hello - You can have a mixed selection. Better to just remember: ‘Preserve structure’ applies to curves, and to surfaces that are not joined to other surfaces.
