A while ago I reported an issue related to the UI in Rhino 8 (when it was still WIP in the Summer). I notice that the issue is still present, though to a lesser extent. Upon clicking on an icon whose tool is building an object (such like Point, Circle, Curve, Box etc), the mouse pointer in Rhino 8 changes immediately to a crosshair sight, even though it’s still located over the icon. This particular behaviour leads to an unpolished feeling, hides the icon itself and causes slight shutter and lag (at least on my system). Contrary to that, the mouse pointer of Rhino 7 remains as an arrow and very responsive at any time, and switches to a crosshair sight only after it leaves the toolbar and reaches the viewport.
We’re working on this now:
RH-73900 Extra click needed to acces a command in a flyout toolbar
Thanks, this is logged as RH-79396 Cursor incorrectly changes to crosshair
I have created a dedicated topic for that particular bug:
The log now shows incorrect link to the other topic where the moved posts were located up until several minutes ago. It should redirect to the current topic instead.
I have simmilar kind of problem with my cursor.
When I start rhino8 with empty project he is fine. But When Im loading my projects cursor changes. It looks like getteing smaller. After turn rhino8 off cursor is getting even smaller again.
After reboot or logout its coming back to normal.
Now that my consciousness is aware of it, it’s going to really bug me
I’m checking it out rn. It’s a very peculiar lil bug
It looks like it makes a bit more sense when you use the actual crosshair option.
I’m making a lil vid brb
What’s really weird is my screen capture software doesn’t seem to record the ‘bug’ very well – like it’s phantom or something…
I put the speed to 75% but, still doesn’t show up very well. I might need to use iphone recording or something…
Seems like it’s one of those shy bugs that only appear when they are not being recorded.
The problem also exists in V5 and V6, but is less noticeable.
The crosshair appears for a few msec and then the mouse pointer changes back to the arrow.
In V8 it takes a mouse move to get the arrow back.
