Bug with Gumball and confusing feedback by Osnap

When I create a box, the Gumball is located on the first picking edge used to build the former. No matter how many times I try to reset its position, it’s always there. Also, when I double-click on the Gumball’s origin to move it, it will not let me snap to the center of the box…

I noticed that the Osnap in Rhino 9 WIP is quite confusing and shows improper sub-object thick highlight in certain objects. Here is an example with a basic box. The program refuses to highlight the vertical edges when I want to snap on them, as well as the side walls when I want to snap to their center.
Furthermore, I’m unable to snap to the center of the vertical walls unless I move the mouse pointer very close to their top edge.

Are you using extrusions?

Yes, seems like the bug is related to the extrusions in V9. I don’t use extrusions in Rhino 7, but now I started with a fresh install of Rhino 9 WIP and the default geometry type is set to extrusions rather than normal NURBS geometry.

I have extrusions turned off too

To turn extrusions off:
Options > General > Use extrusions when possible

I already did that long time ago in Rhino 7, but now I installed a default Rhino 9 WIP and I redo my settings manually one by one, because importing the V7 settings into the WIP caused a ton of bugs.

Here are just a few of the quality-of-life features that the extrusions take from you:
