No!!Not faster, but if reinforced, it can greatly help in the process of modeling and fabricating the seam.

Is there something else than slowness that makes shut lining less useful/helpful in your workflow?

I feel that if you increase the number of profiles it will provide a good topology

Please add this option so that anyone can design and add the profile and section in Rhino for shut lining section.(by custom curve cammand)
By separating the layers color of each section
