When moving a Control Point on a surface in the attached file, the operation takes several minutes to complete after the mouse button is released. After mesh updates, the viewport freezes or experiences extreme lag (~3 min).
Expected Behavior: Moving the CV point should complete instantly upon releasing the mouse button, with immediate feedback and no noticeable delay.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Open the attached file.
- ! _PointsOn
- Select a CV point on the affected surface (as shown in the video).
- Drag the point to a new location.
- Release the mouse button.
Actual Behavior: In Rhino 9 wip and 8, The system becomes unresponsive for several minutes before the move is finally applied. In Rhino 7, only a few seconds.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Taking out the UV mapping via RemoveMappingChannel
, the issue is gone.
Environment:
- OS: Windows 11
- Rhino Version: (9.0.26153.12415, 2026-06-02) - Work in Progress, Rhino 8 and Rhino 7
- Hardware: Intel i7 14th Gen, 32 GB RAM, RTX 5090
