Buckling for Cross Section Optimization through Karamba

Hi Karamba Team,

I’ve created a truss model and feed it into Karamba for section optimization.

The issue I have faced is when the model is exported to GSA for analysis, the steel utilization value in certain compression members are over 1.

Looking further into the analysis model, it seems that the local buckling was over utilized which prompted me the question, does the component in Karamba take into account local buckling checks when it comes to optimizing sections.

The problem is that I cannot find a way to limit Galapagos so that I don’t get too high deformations. Buckling design in Karamba works correctly if you define buckling lengths within members correctly.
