Bracelets/Cuffs - Flipping logo & signing for final samples

Hi guys,

I’ve been struggling with something…

I recently designed a first collection of Bracelets (cuffs) in Rhino. These bracelets have signing (logo) on the outside and on the inside some engraving/text.

The goal here is to have on sample made/printed that I can send to my silversmid to take into production…my question here is: Can I deliver the final sample/design to him so he can make a casting model? And I don’t have to think of flipping logo’s etc. in the design for him to make a correct casting?

Sorry guys, a bit new to this…3D thinking…

Thanks in advance,
Ray

Hi Ray - if your model is a positive (presumably) and it looks correct, then a 3d print will match that, and any molds taken from that will produce that same positive. So I think you’re good.

Hi Pascal,

Thank you so much for your reply…totally clear and logical now I think about it:-)

Do u by any chance know a thing or two about casting (for silver purposes)? Can a silversmid/worker make a good casting model/model from a plastic printed bracelet? Or does it need to be a harder material like brass/steel/etc?

Thanks in advance,
Ray

Hi Ray, sorry, any jewelry-specific knowledge is way above my pay grade…
