I have a sidebar window that is Dedicated to BoxEdit. When I start with a new document and draw some curves, BoxEdit does not recognize until I click on the icon. If the only item in the sidebar is the BoxEdit , should it not activate on its own when I select an item? Once I activate it, BoxEdit properly displays any following geometry, but fails on the first go. This seems not to fall in line with other sidebar menu items.
I setup my right side Inspector panels the same way with BoxEdit in one and everything else in the other.
So far I can not duplicate the problem.
I’m running an in-house build of V6.26 in Catalina 10.15.4.
What’s your setup?
Posting the results of SystemInfo is a good overview of your setup.
Thanks John for the reply.
Here is the System info. Just updated with the latest build this morning and the problem persists. (Version 6 (6.26.20136.04182, 2020-05-15)
This problem is not present the WIP.
Is there a Pref file I could trash that may fix it?

That would be my next suggestion:
Thank you @John_Brock.
The link was very helpful. I got it back working the way it should.
Guess something got wonky in my pref file.
I exported my prefs. Did the command line reset and then imported back. Thanks again.
I had this issue reappear. I have done some testing to see if I could make this “bug” repeat itself. So this is how I can make the box edit from displaying info and coming up unknown on my end. The panel displays properly when it is just displaying 2 panels. If I set my preferences to display 3 side panels and make that 3rd panel to display only BoxEdit info only that where things fall part. BoxEdit for me comes up unknown unit I click on it. For me this is reproducible every time, even after resetting my prefs. I though it was fixed after resetting because it defaulted to 2 side panels, but when I add the third I ran into the problem again. Would you @John_Brock test it and confirm this please. Attached is a screenshot.
Yes. I can reproduce that in V6 and V7.
Awesome, thanks you for logging it to get it fixed.
I’m getting a 404 error on the link. I would to follow it on youtrack is I can.
That’s because the developer has not had a chance to look at the new report, and determine if a public view is appropriate.
Normally items submitted through the discussion forums are open to public view but not always.
I see that one control was lifted but not the other.
It’s open now.
RH-58788 Panels: BoxEdit Panel is unknown in 3 inspector panel Theme
should be fixed in the latest Rhino 6 for Mac service release.
