_BooleanDifference - Computer Stucked

Dear All,

I waited for more than 3 hours for subtraction process from closed polysurface (Ligth brownish) with multipipe SubD object (Blue) to complete but the computer is stucked, freezed. Is this normal or is something wrong with my computer(i9, 32 RAM, RTX 4500)?

I mean there was a project in ‘00 where I routinely had to wait 45 minutes for booleans, every extra bit of complexity in the objects increases the time exponentially and what you’re trying to do sounds pretty complex.

Can you just save this as a Zip file? I’m not installing extra file zip software like it’s 1997.

Yeah I tried to ToNURBS this before booleaning it (which booleandifference will have to do automatically) and it says it would create 140,000 surfaces. That’s unfeasible to attempt all at once, yes.

:+1: Thanks for your time.

what is your goal here? Cnc? 3d print? rendering?

depending on your needs, you can simply shrinkwrap this model and have a unified 3d mesh you can cnc or 3d print…

works well here with .25 edge length 2 smoothing passes, and 20% optimization.

(fwiw, I’d love to see the rest of this bike… looks like a cool theme coming together here..)
