Boolean Split at Seam

#1

I have a part that I shelled and now need to split. I am trying to split it at the seam, but it keeps failing. How else can I cut my part?

I dupedge then extrude and extend the surfaces so that the part is completely divided, but it won’t split.

Hi Lawrence - it’s probably easier to just split the exploded surfaces, join as needed and then split the cutters to create the closing surfaces.

The problem is in getting a clean intersection where there is a seam coincident. V6/WIP gets this right, btw.

I was afraid you would say this. Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to split it manually.

When will V6 be released?

When it’s ready.

Just curious, what is stopping you from - partly - using the WIP now?

#5

Can V5 open V6 files (in case there is a problem with the WIP)? I don’t have many plugins, but will all my grasshopper add-ons still work?

Hi Lawrence - V5 will not open V6 files. You’ll have to SaveAs from V6 in V5 format.
