Boolean difference will not select mesh

Hi,

This is my first post and I am a bit of a novice so apologies in advance.

I have what I thought would be a very simple operation but I am having difficulties, I have two meshes that I have imported, one head and the hair. I would like to put a cylindrical hole through the neck all the way through the head and out of the hair. I created a cylinder and placed in the correct place, selected Boolean difference but when it tells me to selects the surface to subtract from, it wont select it!

Am I missing something very simple?

Many thanks in advance
Chris

Meshes have their own set of commands for this, use MeshBooleanDifference (check the “Mesh” menu). That being said, mesh trim/split/Boolean operations are not all that reliable in Rhino, so check your results…

Hi Mitch,

Thanks so much, that has been driving me mad.

You say that the Boolean mesh is not the best on Rhino, is there a better way to do it?

Thanks
Chris
