Boolean difference trouble shooting

Hi there,

I am all very new to Rhino and have been having trouble doing a simple boolean difference. I have a mac version of this software and have read through similar topics to try and resolve this problem.

The surface on the left works when doing a boolean difference however the one on the right side wont. any suggestions?

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Best regards,
Simon

To trouble-shoot booleans, run the Intersect command on the objects that you want to boolean. In this case (well – I find that it’s the left one that doesn’t work…) you will see that the result thereof are 2 curves. There should only be one in order for this to work.

Try not to create situations where you will have tangent surfaces intersecting like this. Get rid of the fillets and extend the slant surfaces to extend well beyond the box. Then boolean. Then fillet.
