Do you see a Bongo menu like this in Rhino?
Is Bongo 2.0 loaded and enabled in the Options | Plug-ins list?
If neither, and you are certain the install worked, close Rhino and restart your PC. Any better?
If not, run the Rhino _SystemInfo command and post the output.
Hi Jeremy,
Thanks for the response!
I didn’t have Bongo in the tool bar or plug in list after rebooting and restarting.
I removed Bongo and reinstalled it. Seemed to finish just fine the second time:
Reboot of the machine and Rhino7 gave the same result.

Perplexing … I have Bongo1 from many moons back and haven’t used it for a long while. I am trying to eval Bongo2 for an upgrade to see if it will give an acceptable process for a bunch of animation I’ve be asked to do.
Appreciate any help that you can pass along!
I would really like to do this within the Rhino environment.
Best regards,
B
OK, so it isn’t installed as a plugin in Rhino (it should be in the “do not ship with Rhino” list). Do you have Rhino 5 or 6 installed? - the installer may have loaded it into one of those.
So lets see if it physically there on your drive. You should see this folder tree:
And delving into the Rhino6 folder shown above you should see a file:
If these folders are there, try opening Rhino 7 and dragging Bongo.20.rhp onto the Rhino canvas.
Any luck?
Hi Jeremy,
I appreciate your help in digging below the surface.
I have the BongoUI.20.(v50&)v60.RHP in Program Files,
Dropping v50 gives the error “Not Compiled for this version” …
and dropping v60 onto the canvas gives …
Need to figure out what is causing the init to stumble.
THANK YOU!!!
Bruce
The problem is most likely this one:
So you can either run the _MigratePlugIns command and check both Bongo plug-ins, or you can manually load Bongo 2.0 into Rhino 7 the following way:
In Tools > Options > Plug-ins
Click the Install button and go to:
C:\Program Files\Bongo 2.0 (64-bit)\Rhino6
Select the Bongo.20.rhp file and press Open.
Click the Install -button again and go to:
C:\Program Files\Bongo 2.0 (64-bit)
Select the BongoUI.20.v60.rhp file and press Open.
Now Bongo should be loaded inside Rhino 7.
Please note that the rhp files need to be loaded in that order. If you try loading it the other way (As in the UI rhp first) the plug-in won’t load.
Marika,
Ah … the two RHPs allowed Bongo2 to come up.
As a suggestion, putting these RHPs inside the installer would be helpful as trying to get to the point just to eval Bongo2 took 4 working days from my first download. With my customer pushing me to show some progress, I was just about to give up and move on to another software.
This kind of very basic product problem gives me a concern about the long term viability of Bongo and the investment in time learning it.
Is Bongo getting proper support within McNeel?
Thanks!
Best regards,
B
The two rhp files are getting installed when you install Bongo. Rhino should detect them automatically and load them, but occasionally there are problems on some machines and unfortunately the one you installed it on, seems to be one of them. We’ve been trying to figure out what causes Rhino to not detect that a new plug-in has been installed, but so far we haven’t been able to exactly pin point the problem.
Bongo is supported and currently the Bongo team is working hard on developing Bongo 3 that’s currently in WIP.
