Hello, I love the plugin boltgen, for metric threads I use i very often, also for 3D printing it works very nice!
Now I need to print 3/4inch BSP. therefore I command boltgen>>english>>inside threadcutter and nut, and then I searched for 3/4 and found this:
the thread I need is 14, so I chose 3/4 - 16 (closest to 14).
Both diameter and thread are wrong.
the thread is 16, but I need 14, I chose 16 so that’s obvious.
the diameter is also wrong: it should be close to 24mm.
Probably I use the boltgen wrong for this matter, can someone help me out?
I’m afraid Boltgen doesn’t produce BSP threads. You should be able to download a BSP CAD file from these people: https://www.mcmaster.com/
You need to log in to their website to get access, but it is a popular resource here. Don’t forget there are two types of BSP: parallel and tapered - if you are mating with an existing connector you need to know which type it is.
No, if you just want the thread then you will need to download a threaded object and extract the thread from it. You may need to array/trim the thread to extend it to the length you need. Assuming you want a parallel internal thread then this might be a starting point: McMaster-Carr
