I’ve observed that in Rhino 8 (Version 8 SR28 — 8.28.26041.11001, 2026‑02‑10), locking a block instance causes all other instances of the same block in the model to change their display state.
This behavior appears unintended and does not seem functionally useful.
Could this be a bug?
Hi Gianni -
Please create new threads for unrelated issues.
Could you provide both a 3dm file and the output of the Rhino SystemInfo?

Hi Wim, here are the system info and the video + Rhino file. This is happening in the latest Rhino 9 release… is it just me, or is this a bug?
Hi Gianni -
Standard graphics configuration using DirectX
Primary display: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti (NVidia) Memory: 1GB, Driver date: 12-29-2016 (M-D-Y). DirectX(11)
Your GPU drivers are 10 years old. In the Rhino Notifications panel, please follow the links to the NVIDIA site where you can look for something that is more up to date.

Hi Wim, here is the same file tested on a newer computer with updated graphics card drivers. The result is the same. I’m looking forward to a fix for this issue because Rhino 9’s new features are very useful, but I’m struggling to work with this display glitch
