Hi,
When i copy (CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) multiple, i mean nearly 20, “Bitmap file _______ already exists. Skipping Bitmap.” messages appear in the command line. those files were used in picture frames but they are not needed and deleted by me.
Why rhino give these messages while copy and pasting an object? the object doesn’t have anything common with the picture frame.
i am working on this file nearly 5 months now. through this process i used picture frame for reference (and all the bitmap names stated in the command line were used). nearly for 2 months i don’t use them any more and they are deleted by me. anyway when i copy a geometry and paste it into the same file i work, this messages appears in the command line.
Hi Blastered - you can try testPurgeBitmapTable and see if that clears it. (this is a brutal command- it clears all bitmaps saved in the bitmap table, so if you have any that you want, don’t do it - use Audit3dmFile to see what images are in the bitmap table)
Also, before you clean up, can you export an object to a new file and send it to me or post it here? I’d like to see what you are seeing at the command line.
I’m seeing this too and it’s quite sticky, it travels with file geometry being copied and pasted between files and when importing named views from other files. So now it seems all my files are displaying these error message at the command line whenever I paste something.
Thanks… I do not see any errors copying and pasting with the file you sent… @Marc, do you see this with recently made Rhino files or older ones, can you tell? It seems like Blastered’s file was started a while ago.
Hi Marc-OK, thnaks. As far as I can see, images that go into the bitmap table never come out… only testPurgeBitmapTable helps. I’d expect a pictureframe image to be purged if the object using it were deleted, I suppose. For now at least testPurgeBitmapTable is the thing.
I still do not know why this message shows up in some cases- so far I have not seen it.
Hi Marc- yes please - it may not help - Blastered sent me a file previously and I could not reproduce the problem, but if you can send us something I’d love to have another try.
