Best way to put an object inside tube

Hello,

Modeling a tube that will attach to the end of a hand held blower. It requires rectangular “nubs” on the inside of the tube. How can I get the rectangular shape to match the inside curve of the tube. I can move the rectangle solid onto the inside of the tube and Boolean join but, then the dimension of the cube wont be exact. I tried several of the flow commands and orient but cant seem to get it to work. I know there has to be an easier way, just can’t think of it.

Hope I explained it correct.

Thanks as always!!!

not sure I understand the problem.. .are you trying to do this?

if that is the case, push pull the top face of your cube and boolean it into the ring.

Thank you,

That rectangle needs to be on exactly on that curve. If i just push it on to the curve it wont fit prober because its a straight edge. Need it to match the curve so it is the dame dimension from the inner wall of the tube. the edge of the rectangle that is facing the inner part of the tube need to be curved same radius as tube. I guess I could just model the rectancle shape that way but perhaps there is an easier way…

shove it into the ring using pushpull (assuming you are using v8) and boolean union it… Adjust heights with pushpull.

Uh… there’s a good reason for the “boo” in boolean… you can also use Rhino’s NURBS surfaces, just sayin’ ; )

I’m confused… What I showed is all nurbs.

Thank you, always great help here.

I guess my lesson is go with the easiest solution

Honestly, I sometimes forget about Push/Pull - which is weird because I used to use sketchup .. LOL

Just a feeble attempt at a joke.

You’re forgetting that it also has Olé in it…
