Best 3d files for importing parts

I’d like to use some objects that can be downloaded from the McMaster-Carr site - various fasteners. They provide a default of solidworks, but there are some other types including

3-D Models
3-D EDRW
3-D IGES
3-D PDF
3-D SAT
3-D Solidworks
3-D STEP

Can someone recommend the most useable type?

IGES or STEP are generic 3D CAD file types and should do the trick for you
