Basic drawing - Make2d / Silhouette

Hello!

Creating a simple outline drawing still produces multiple overlapping output curves of more complex geometry.

When using Make2d on a geometry set consisting of multiple unjoined surfaces, or polysurfaces, it’d be great if we could still produce a true outline drawing without internal surface edges and overlapping curves.

Sometimes, I have a model and don’t need/want to join the surfaces and then create a drawing.

Hi Sach this is available in Make2d as ‘Scene silhouette’ - do you see that? Is that it?

Pascal

Thanks. That’s what I thought would work but it draws all the surface edges. In this case the surfaces are not joined. In many cases I have a model consisting of many un-joined surfaces which I don’t need to join but still want to create an outline drawing of.

Hi Sach - it should work - the silhouette output is on its own layer though.

Yes it works. But I get all the individual surface edges also.

But on different layers, right? Here if I explode a box and Make2d, the scene sihouette is correct and the individual face curves are on a different layer

Oh. I see. I’ll try that.

That works!!! Great tool!!!
